 2016 Preview 


       Last year Carver finished fifth in Class 6A region 2 with a 3-4 region record and failed to qualify for the playoffs.

       Averaging over ten wins a season since 2010, Carver has gone a combined 49-23. Their 68.0% winning percentage ranks 16th in Class 6A over the past six seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Carver has managed to compile a record of 141-140. Their 50.0% winning percentage ranks 29th in Class 6A and 187th in the AHSAA.

       The Wolverines are led by head coach Billy Gresham who is entering his fifth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 41-19 over the past five seasons at Carver Montgomery. Under his direction the Wolverines have qualified for the playoffs a total of four times. They have won two region crowns with Coach Gresham.

       Coach Gresham's overall record as a head football coach in five seasons stands at 41-19 (68.3%). Over the course of his career, Coach Gresham's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of four times and won two region championships.

      

      The Carver Wolverines will play in Class 6A region 2 during the 2016 season.

      

       The Wolverines open the 2016 season on the road against non-region opponent Auburn on Thursday, August 18 at Duck Samford Stadium. Last year the Auburn Tigers finished with an overall record of 7-5 and in second place in Class 7A region 2. The Tigers lost in the second round of the Class 7A playoffs to McGill-Toolen by a score of 42-3.

       Carver and Auburn have met a total of 17 times on the football field. The Wolverines have a 6-11-0 record against the Tigers. They last met in 2016 with Auburn winning by a score of 17-14.
